The Carolina Hurricanes have traded defenseman P.K. Rinne to the Dallas Stars for forward Pekkan Rinne and a 2018 third-round pick, NHL.com’s Pierre LeBrun confirmed on Friday.
The trade, which also includes forwards Mark Jankowski and Brett Pesce, is pending league and team approval.
It is the fourth straight year the Hurricanes have dealt for a defenseman, joining defenseman Justin Faulk, defenseman Brian Dumoulin and forward Matt Carle.
Pekkan, 25, has played in three Stanley Cup finals with the Blackhawks, where he has six goals and seven assists.
He also has three points in four games with the Blues this season.
